About Annie Laurie:

Childhood momories and innocent times, what a magical place to go back to!

Teddy bears seem to have a very easy time taking us there.

My name is Annie Laurie and I love teddy bears. I love their unpretentious way and their ability to bring us smiles and comfort.

I've been involved with art from as far back as I can remember.  As a child I would spend most of my time creating little animals out of twigs, leaves, strings and even cotton balls.  My Forget-Me-Notkins are now made using much fancier materials, but I believe that they are no different, especially on the inside, from those little animals I made long ago.  You see, they are filled with the same love, the same dreams and the same intentions. They are created for joy and smiles.

I was born in the beautiful city of Madrid, Spain and came to the US at the age of 6.  I've been a professional horse trainer, a police officer, a legal interpreter and sometimes I've even been a bit of a gypsy traveling around the country just to explore.

I've been blessed with a wonderful child, also a very talented artist. She keeps me young with her silly sense of humor and makes me laugh so hard at times I think my sides will just split!

I tend to get bored with repitition and for this reason you will find that my creations will always be different. I think this is a good thing, as I am always witnessing the birth of something brand new and wonderful.  I know if you have a good design, it's tempting to make that same bear over and over, maybe in a different color or size, but I don't really get so much satisfaction out of that.

Variety is the beautiful thing.  The same idea that I have about the different peoples and cultures of the world hold true for my creations... THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GARDENS ARE THOSE WHICH HAVE A VARIETY OF FLOWERS. EACH ONE DIFFERENT, EACH ONE ADDING ITS OWN SPECIAL INDIVIDUALITY. What a lovely place to be!
